Some changes have been made to the formats of the UEFA Nations League, FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers and European Football Championship Qualifiers.
According to UEFA's statement, the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Nyon, Switzerland, decided to make minor changes in the status of men's national team organizations to be played from September 2024.
Accordingly, a new qualifying round to be played in March will be added to the UEFA Nations League. Thus, continuity will be ensured between the group stage that ends in November and the finals played in June of the new year.
The group winners and runners-up of the A League will participate in the quarter-finals to be held according to the double elimination method, and the winners of the matches will advance to the UEFA Nations League Final Four.
In addition to the third place in the A League and the second place in the B League, the third place in the B League and the second place in the C League will play promotion-relegation matches according to the double elimination method.
The group numbers in the FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers and European Football Championship Qualifiers will increase from 10 to 12. Participants will be divided into 12 groups of 4 or 5 each.
After the home-away matches where the teams will play each other, those who take the first place in the groups will go directly to the finals. The second-ranked teams will either qualify directly or go to the play-offs.
Teams in groups of 5 will start qualifying in March, teams that will compete in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals or promotion-relegation matches in June. Teams in groups of 4 will play their first matches in the qualifiers in September.

The match was decided to be held on August 16, 2023 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens, the capital of Greece.
