The cold weather might have eliminated the jumps meetings in the UK this week but we head to Lingfield for some all-weather action instead for today’s column, where we have the chance to win a share of today’s minimum £250,000 Placepot.

Leg 1 Selections: Dance To Paris, First Emperor, Sharp Distinction​

Ehteyat got the job done nicely last-time-out and whilst he will be popular due to Ryan Moore taking the ride, I am keen to oppose him from a wide draw here plus he is up against some well-treated rivals. DANCE IN PARIS scored over course-and-distance off a two pounds higher mark and is down in grade from a good draw here, so he has to be included.

FIRST EMPEROR shaped well in most of his starts when trained in Ireland and ran well on stable debut to be nearest the finish when seventh of 13 over track and trip. He should have more to come and has Luke Morris in the saddle, so he is of interest. SHARP DISTINCTION has finished a close-up second the last two times and could go one better.
