The 3rd round matches started on the 5th day of the tournament held in Melbourne.

Polish Swiatek, who won 3 grand slam titles in women's singles, defeated world number 100 Spanish Cristina Bucsa, who came from the qualifiers, 2-0 with 6-0 and 6-1 sets.

USA's Jessica Pegula (seeded 3) won 2-0 against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine, 61st in the classification, with sets ending 6-0 and 6-2.

18-year-old American Coco Gauff (7), who played in the final at the French Open last year, beat world number 41 Bernarda Pera from the same country with a score of 2-0 (6-3, 6-2).

In women, Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko (17), Ukraine's Kateryna Baindl 2-0 (6-3, 6-0), Kazakh Elena Rybakina (22), USA's Danielle Collins 2-1 (6-2, 5- 7, 6-2), Czech Barbora Krejcikova (20) beat Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 2-0 (6-2, 6-3) to advance to the 4th round.

In the fourth round, Swiatek-Rybakina, Ostapenko-Gauff and Pegula-Krejcikova matches will be played.

Men's singles favorites round out

Favorite tennis players, who took the court in the morning session matches in men's singles, made their names in the 4th round.

Playing in the semi-finals three times in the tournament, Greek Tsitsipas defeated world number 63 Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 3-0 (6-2, 7-6, 6-3).

Canadian racquet Felix Auger-Aliassime (6) won against Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo (28) 3-1 in sets that ended 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 and 6-4.

In men's men, Italian Jannik Sinner (15), Hungarian Marton Fucsovics 3-2 (4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0), Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (31) from the USA Mackenzie Mcdonald. ' 3-0 (7-6, 6-3, 6-2) to the 4th round.

Auger-Aliassime's rival Cameron Norrie-Jiri Lehecka will be the winner in the 4th round, when Tsitsipas matched Sinner, and Nishioka's rival will be the winner of Karen Khachanov-Frances Tiafoe.
