The champion of the 53rd ATP Finals, which was held for the first time in 1970 and has brought the tennis players in the top 8 places of the men's world rankings against each other since 2000, has been announced.
In the final of the hard court tournament played at the Alpitour Sports Hall in Turin, Italy, Djokovic, who won the ATP Finals 5 times, and Ruud, who made it to the finals for the first time, faced off.
Serbian racquet Djokovic won the championship once again after 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, beating his Norwegian opponent 2-0 with 7-5 and 6-3 sets.
The 35-year-old Djokovic, the oldest champion of the ATP Finals, also equaled Roger Federer's record for the most wins in the tournament.
Djokovic, who won 18 of his last 19 games, has won his 5th singles title this season and the 91st in his career.
