Britain’s Fran Jones has reached the second round of French Open qualifying after dumping out two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist Coco Vandeweghe.
Jones, ranked 316 in the world, beat world No 164 Vandeweghe 6-3 6-3 in an hour and 11 minutes to set up a meeting with Switzerland's Ylena In-Albon in the second qualifying round.
British No 10 Jones (pictured below) was born with only seven toes and three fingers and a thumb on each hand due to a rare genetic condition called Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia.
Elsewhere, Sonny Kartal looked to be on her way to an impressive victory against 19th seed Viktoria Hruncakova when she led 6-2 5-1 but then lost six games in a row before eventually falling to a 2-6 7-5 6-4 defeat.
British men's No 7 Ryan Peniston snapped an eight-match losing streak with a 6-4 6-2 victory over Turkey's Altug Celikbilek.
