Rodgers: Nothing imminent, but Leicester working hard on transfers
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers says the club are working on bringing players in to strenghten the squad this month.The summer signing of Wout Faes is the only business the Foxes have done to bring in an outfield player since August 2021.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of this weekend's FA Cup third round tie against Gillingham, he said: "We're working very hard behind the scenes to look to get in the type of players we want to bring in. Nothing to report today, but I know there's a lot of work going on to help the squad.
"Every manager will tell you he wants them [signings] in at the beginning of the window, but it's never as easy as that. It's normally complex and a lot of work has to go on behind the scenes before a player can come in.
"The supporters have virtually had one outfield signing to talk about in the last couple of windows, so they know and can probably see the team needs that reinforcement as well.
"It's getting more difficult at this level and in this league. The financial resources that are available now, not just in top six clubs, but a number of other clubs beyond that makes it really, really difficult.
"You've got club's with multiple injections of finance who can draw on those resources, whereas we have one owner and one family that does amazing for this football club. But every year it gets tougher."
