Leicester City vs Brighton Predictions

  • Brighton have won four of their last five matches in all competitions
  • Five of Leicester’s nine home league games this term have ended in defeat
  • Brighton have scored at least twice in each of their last five games in all competitions
  • Kaoru Mitoma has scored three times in the Premier League this season

Leicester’s struggles could continue at the King Power

Things appear to be going from bad to worse for Leicester City and a visit from Premier League highflyers Brighton on Saturday is one of the last things the Foxes need right now.
The Midlands side are struggling in the Premier League this season with 12 defeats sustained in 19 matches and a defeat to the Seagulls this weekend could well see them fall back into the drop zone.
The club’s board has shut out the noise and persisted with Brendan Rodgers, who led Leicester to an eighth-placed finish in the league last season but cannot get a tune out of his current crop.

Injuries make matters worse for Brendan Rodgers

Leicester have lost each of their four Premier League fixtures since returning from the World Cup break, including a particularly damaging 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last time out.
Indeed, Leicester failed to score in three of those four losses and they were also dumped out of the EFL Cup by Newcastle this month.
To make matters worse, injuries have been piling up with the likes of James Maddison, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Boubakary Soumare and Jonny Evans sidelined and Brighton look a solid selection to win at the King Power Stadium.

Little stopping the Seagulls in pursuit of European football

The Seagulls have gone from strength to strength under Roberto De Zerbi and at the end of last weekend’s Premier League action, they were only three points off the top five.
They have racked up the goals since the season’s hiatus, beating Southampton 3-1, Everton 4-0 and Liverpool 3-0 most recently, having also smashed Championship highflyers Middlesbrough 5-1 in the FA Cup.
A Brighton win is the way to go and we predict a victory by a 2-0 margin.
Kaoru Mitoma has looked particularly bright on the flank for Brighton, scoring in two of the team’s last three league fixtures, and is worth a bet to score at any time in this contest too.
