Laporta: Busquets has offer to move to the USA
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that Sergio Busquets has the option to leave the club for the United States.The Spanish midfielder's contract expires at the end of the season and Laporta wants to keep the 34-year-old at the club until the end of the season, before discussing a rolling contract.
"He has proposals to continue away from the league, in the United States," Laporta told radio station Cadena Ser.
"If all goes well, which is what we all want, he will continue until the end of the season and in the summer we will talk.
"There are discussions about the future because Busquets will not be eternal. If we renew with Busi, we would do it yearly.
"And you have to find a substitute with guarantees. There is Frenkie, but only one [midfielder] is not enough.
"Xavi has to decide. He asks, Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff propose and the final decision is up to the club."
