Dragon Tiger Pragmatic Play

Dragon Play is an Asian card game that has been quite popular at live casinos. So, it comes as no surprise that Pragmatic Play has jumped on the bandwagon to offer its version of it.
If you enjoy playing Baccarat, you may want to give Dragon Tiger a go. As the popular meme says, it is the same but different… but still the same. So, without further ado, let’s dive into the review subject and learn all the details about Dragon Tiger by Pragmatic Play.

How to Play Dragon Tiger Live

The game uses an 8-deck shoe and allows you to place bets within 20 seconds. Your task is to choose one of the sides, Dragon or Tiger, and place your bet on it. By doing so, you guess which side will receive a card of a higher ranking. Once you place your bet, the dealer will burn the first card and deal one to each side.

Both the Dragon and Tiger bet pay 1:1. Another main bet is Tie, which pays 11:1 when both sides receive the card of the same value. If you don’t play this bet and a Tie occurs, you will get back half of your main bet. There is also the Suited Tie bet paying 50:1. The game also offers side bets we will cover in the next section of the review. Its RTP is 96.27% in the main game. However, the Tie bet has an RTP of 89.64%, while the Suited Tie bet comes with an RTP of 86.02%. These figures tell a lot about how risky the Tie betting options are.

Game Features

Dragon Tiger by Pragmatic Play offers a range of optional side bets. However, they are not as lucrative as in other card games. On the contrary, they all pay even-money prizes and have an RTP of 92.31%. So, let’s take a closer look at them and find out how they work.

The Big/Small bet pays if the side you choose receives an 8 or higher or a 6 and lower. If the dealt card is a 7, both bets lose.

The Odd/Even bet pays if the side you have wagered on receives an odd or even number, just like its name suggests. Again, both bets lose if a 7 is drawn. Keep in mind that in Dragon Tiger, an Ace is counted as one, a Jack is 11, a Queen is 12, and a King is 13.

The Red/Black side bet wins when the chosen side receives a red or black card. You can win on these bets if a 7 in the selected colour is drawn.

When it comes to side bets, there are a few restrictions. For example, you won’t be able to play bets of the same type on the same side simultaneously, but you can combine them. Moreover, you won’t be able to play optional bets after 50 hands are played.

Video Performance

The game has a strong Asian feel to it, with dragon and tiger statues on either side of the dealer. It is operated by dealers clad in elegant red Chinese-style dresses, adding to the Macau-like atmosphere.

On either side of the betting layout, you will notice roadmaps you can use to check the results from previous rounds. Unfortunately, while the statistics can show you trends, they cannot help you predict the outcome of the next round because Dragon Tiger is a game of sheer luck.
