Chelsea 'make substantial' Fernandez offer
A lot more stories in Saturday morning's papers regarding Chelsea's ongoing pursuit of highly rated Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Daily Mail report that the Blues have made "a substantial offer" for the Argentina midfielder, but it is understood to be in instalments rather than his £106m release clause outright.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are pressing ahead with a club-record transfer that could see Fernandez, who was voted the best young player at the recent 2022 World Cup in Qatar, arrive at Stamford Bridge in January, says the Daily Express.
Sky Sports have reported that Chelsea are interested in Fernandez, but Benfica will not sell the player for any lower than his £105m release clause.
