Celtic vs St Mirren Predictions

  • No team has had more Premiership wins with four or more goals than Celtic have this season.
  • Celtic and BTTS has been a winning bet in six of their last seven Premiership home games.
  • Celtic have scored at least 2 goals in 13 of their last 14 league games.

Celtic should get the job done

Currently flying high at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, Celtic know that the title is all but wrapped up. The 1/9 odds for Ange Postecoglu’s men to win speaks for itself, so we must look elsewhere to find some value.
Interestingly, the last domestic game that Celtic lost was against St Mirren in the reverse and that way way back in September! The Bhoys have improved greatly since that day, although they aren’t infallible at the back with three clean sheets across their last six matches.
A perfect home record of: W10 with just seven goals conceded will buoy the Bhoys, but don’t be surprised to see St Mirren arrive with bellies full of fire with the chance to complete a historic league double.

A tough night ahead for St Mirren

Although St Mirren have won just one of their last nine matches, only two of their last eight opponents during this rotten run have managed to stop them from scoring. That run even includes a 1-1 draw with Rangers, so only a fool would write them off completely!
There seems to be a decent chance that St Mirren can at least score here and backing Celtic to triumph in the win & BTTS market could be the smart choice.
The title-chasing hosts are clearly a cut above St Mirren, although they’ve already conceded here against lesser opponents such as St Johnstone, Livingston, Dundee United and Ross County already this season, and may well be opened up by St Mirren too.
