Brighton vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

  • Brighton have won three of their last five league games
  • Each of Brighton’s last nine Premier League matches have featured over 2.5 goals
  • Both teams have scored in five of Brighton’s last six league wins
  • Bournemouth are without a clean sheet in ten away league games this season

Soaring Seagulls worth a bet to win

Brighton did well to hold onto key personnel in the January transfer window and they can switch their focus back to football on Saturday, when they welcome struggling Bournemouth to the Amex Stadium.
In the summer transfer window, Brighton saw both Marc Cucurella and Yves Bissouma depart the club, while manager Graham Potter left shortly after to join Chelsea.
And in the January transfer window, it looked like the club could again be left light on key players as Leandro Trossard moved to Arsenal, who also had their sights set on star midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The Gunners failed to land Caicedo in the end as Brighton rejected an offer of £70 million and the Seagulls will now look to continue their pursuit of European football.
They are playing some great football under Roberto De Zerbi and go into their game with Bournemouth fresh from beating Liverpool for the second time in a matter of weeks.

Attacking strength of Brighton hard to ignore

Brighton knocked the Reds out of the FA Cup after beating them 3-0 in the Premier League and they have won three of their last five league games.
The only defeat in that run came against table-toppers Arsenal and even then they managed to bundle in two goals with their attacking prowess an obvious strength.
Indeed, Albion have scored at least twice in all five of their games since returning from the World Cup break and they could again rack up the goals against the permeable Cherries.
Their five matches since the season’s hiatus have produced 22 goals in total so a bet on a Brighton win and over 2.5 goals could be the way to approach this one.

Mitoma can cause problems for lowly Bournemouth

Bournemouth have the most permeable defence in the division with 42 goals shipped in their 20 league games, so Brighton should score a few and 3-1 is our correct score prediction.
The Cherries are most definitely down rather than out but have not won a game since November 12th against Everton and could be out of their depth in this contest.
Central to Brighton’s sharp ascent up the Premier League standings has been the form of Japanese ace Kaoru Mitoma, who also looks worth a bet to add to his tally of four league goals in this match.
