Blackburn Rovers vs Birmingham Predictions

  • Blackburn have won three of their last five home games against Championship sides, two of them by 1-0.
  • Birmingham have lost their last two away games against Championship opponents and failed to score in two of their last three.
  • Bradley Dack has scored three goals in his last nine appearances and has been playing well

Rovers can return cup win over streaky Blues

Birmingham are in freefall and there’s little in their form to suggest they will avoid defeat at Blackburn in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie.
The Blues are a streaky side and, having opened the campaign with just one win in eight, then lost only once in their next 13 games to move into a comfortable mid-table position. But six defeats in their last nine games, five of which have come after the pause for the World Cup, have seen John Eustace’s side slip back into relegation trouble.
Problems in the penalty areas seem to have arisen as Troy Deeney and Scott Hogan have not rediscovered their previous proficiency and the team has leaked too many goals.

Dack is back and scoring goals

Blackburn have been hanging around in the playoffs, although their excellent home form took a hit with back-to-back defeats to Preston and Middlesbrough. They are two of the better away sides in the division, however, and Rovers did get back to winning ways at Ewood Park by beating Cardiff 1-0 on New Year’s Day.
Since then, they have been away for three straight games with mixed results, but the team Jon Dahl Tomasson fielded in their 1-0 cup win at Norwich suggests he is paying full respect to the competition. Bradley Dack should get another outing here and the attacking midfielder, back after two career-threatening knee injuries, could be worth siding with as an anytime scorer after he scored his third goal in his last nine games against Bristol City last weekend.
Rovers should beat a troubled Blues team with a 1-0 correct score play looking good after the Lancashire club’s two recent home wins by that scoreline.
