"I think there's a very good chance that we'll see Qatar invest in a Premier League club.
"I'm not saying that the Qataris are going to go out and buy Manchester United, Liverpool or Tottenham etc.
"But what we're being told is that the Qataris feel they had a very successful World Cup. They believe it was the most successful World Cup ever.
"They want to carry on investing in football. They don't want to rest on their laurels.
"They believe the Premier League is the most popular league in the world and they want to have a stake in it which is why they are looking to actively invest, as well as at other clubs around the world.
"They want to do what the owners of Manchester City have done - they own 11 clubs in 11 different countries and that is the model the Qataris want to follow.
"They already own PSG. They can't go out and own 100 per cent of a Manchester United or a Liverpool because it's complicated and against UEFA rules in the Champions League if they were to face each other.
"They could take a minority stake, however. People said it would be impossible to stage the World Cup in Qatar but they did it.
"The Qataris have proven over the past few years that you can never say never as far as they're concerned."
