Real Madrid have been linked with some of the most highly rated young players in world football in recent times, as it is clear that the club is trying to secure their team for the next decade to come. They already have the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and others, who can play a big role at Santiago Bernabeu for years to come.

On the other hand, the club’s next big transfer target is believed to be Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund, who at 19 years of age, is already amongst the best midfielders in the world and a true prodigy.

Another player who is believed to be high on Real Madrid’s transfer wishlist is Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig, who enjoyed a superb World Cup with Croatia and was arguably the best player at the tournament.

Unsurprisingly, it is believed that RB Leipzig would look for a transfer fee north of €100 million in order to part ways with their star defender. And while Real Madrid are being linked with Gvardiol, it looks like he has a soft spot for Liverpool. As reported by the Mirror, the Croatian centre-back told RTL Danas:

“That would definitely be Liverpool. Since I was little, I watched a lot of Liverpool matches with my dad, and we covered every season in detail. It is a club that has remained in my heart.”

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Gvardiol. A move to Liverpool would make a lot of sense as well.

The Reds have Virgil van Dijk but he is 31 years of age now, and his form is starting to dip a bit as well. Someone like Gvardiol could be a long-term replacement for the Dutchman.

Real Madrid are expected to make a push to sign him as well, although their transfer priority is believed to be Bellingham and it is hard to see them go after two such expensive moves in the same window.
